Hey Guys!
Another week bites the dust in the MTC only 3 more to go whooo hoo! This week was so quick but so filled with crazy experiences. Sundays are the best days! We go to sacrament for an hour and everyone has to prepare a talk for that Sunday because you could be called to speak on the spot and the whole thing is done in Spanish which is super cool and kinda hard to understand whats going on. Sacrament is just with our branch so there are 3 districts in my branch about the same size as my district. Last Sunday i bore my testimony in Spanish and my companion said it was actually really good grammar so im practically fluent....(that was a joke i am not even close). Anyways but then all the sisters in the MTC have relief society no Sunday school or anything, where we usually have someone from like the general relief society presidency or primary presidency come and speak so its like the coolest relief society experience evvvvveeeerrrr! Then we go on temple walks for an hour and get to take pictures and just hang out and its like the best part of Sunday Funday! Then we have choir practice at 5 and after we have a devotional which is usually someone from the 70 or one time we had a professional NFL football player from the Pennsylvania Eagles, so they are super awesome. Then we get to watch movies like ones you would see at the temple until 9:30 bedtime. I saw Stan Roosander last Sunday at the temple and he seems to be adjusting pretty well from what i could tell.
Last Sunday we had a Elder Nelsons wife as the devotional speaker and she talked about praying with real intent and how you could ask God to send you angels by name or by attribute so I tried it out Wednesday night before bed. I asked God to send me Scooter to be with me and to keep me strong and feel loved in the night and throughout the next day. The second i finished my prayer I felt such an overwhelming love envelope me I knew he was there watching over me and when i woke up my companion said that it looked like I was holding someones hand as i slept, and I knew that Scooter was there holding my hand giving me the encouragement i needed. Thursday was the best day of the MTC by far. Studying sessions were more focused, my Spanish was more fluent and I learned so much and was so invested in the lessons we taught to investigators. Olga had read more of the Book of Mormon and was discovering how much her life was changing and being influenced by this book. She couldn't take lessons anymore because of her busy schedule but we got her email and will continue teaching her through email. Every moment of yesterday was completely dedicated to the Lord and focused on my purpose as a missionary. I understand now what it truly is to be a missionary. Its not about baptism and numbers and all that its about helping peoples lives become better and helping them receive the light of Christ and that baptism is a step to get there. I know Scooter is an amazing missionary in heaven and that he is watching over our family and me and even though i never met him i feel this close bond with him that brings me to tears every time i remember the feeling of him holding my heart Wednesday night. I know this gospel is true and that the work I am doing is of the Lord and where i am meant to be. I know without a doubt that there are angels all around us helping us in our daily activities. We have a joke in our dorm room that when we will be in the bathroom sometimes the paper towel machine will go off without anyone being close enough to set it off so whenever it happens we always say "welcome to the MTC angel!"
I was able to host missionaries this week and will host again this next Wednesday too its super fun and exciting to see all the new missionaries coming in and helping them feel like everything is going to be ok. Its an incredible opportunity to be apart of the hasting of His work and i know that even as a missionary whether called officially or in heart we all have a part to play in hastening his work. Don't be afraid to share the gospel you guys because it blesses your life so much when you do and even more blesses their lives! I love you guys so much and miss you all tons! Also i found out i can call home before departing to mexico and that its encouraged to so that the moms don't worry about the flight stuff so i might get to hear from you before you know it!
Nos Vemos!
