We were happy to be able to spend a little time on the grounds of the Provo Temple before we dropped Makayla at the MTC. Many families also had the same idea especially since we were told you cant say your goodbyes or take pictures really when you drop them off.
It was interesting when we arrived on the grounds. So peaceful and I immediately felt the spirit so strong but I also felt a huge sense of "Ok I am ready for this, I can let her go." We all said our goodbyes and gave eachother tons of hugs and then it was time for the drop off.
When we pulled into the MTC a gentleman asks "Elder or Sister?" and they put a color coded sticky note on your windshield according to your answer. Ours was hot pink. As we followed the sister directing our vehicle, we pulled along the curbside and saw a huge line of elders with "host" on their shirts and I believe today there were more sisters than elders, they looked bored.
We pulled to the curb and Makayla excitedly jumped out of the truck with a huge grin on her face and ready to get to work. We got a quick hug after unloading her luggage and she was off so ready to learn and teach with all feet facing forward.
Good Luck Sister Jammet! We can't wait to get your first email/letter!!
