So an update on Pascual...We sent the elders and he didnt answer the door and wasnt home. But then sunday he came to church and so the elders are doing there best to try to help him out but we will see how things go. However, Pati is just as excited as ever for her baptism which will be on the 8th because the 5th we are in the temple. Sunday was a scary day for me to be honest...
We were leaving from lunch to go pick up a member who was going to help us with the lessons and my companion was super quiet and looked really mad so i asked her what was wrong and she said nothing...which is a lie...and so i was trying to crack jokes or figure out what the problem was and when we picked up Dana the member she also asked hna Muñoz what was wrong. Anyways as we are walking my companion starts walking slower so we have to wait for her every couple of minutes and well our appointment fell through so we start walking back and Dana stops to buy a sucker, and hna muñoz just kept going but was walking super fast and crossed the street. So dana and i waited to cross over and afterwards we couldnt see my companion anywhere...she had literally left us and so i didnt want dana to freak out as i was inside so we stopped to take cover under a restuarant door to wait for the rain and hail to stop and eventually hermana muñoz came back and stopped on the corner of the other street just watching us as she got soaked in the rain and we called out to her and all she did was look at us and walk the opposite direction. And then she went in a house and i honestly had no idea what to do because if i go after her i could put the member in danger and the poor thing is 13 yrs old or i could go for help. So thats what we did we went to go get her dad and his car and his phone and go look for her and when we finally found her she was so mad and started yelling at us about how she was going to get sick and that it was our fault if she died and a whole bunch of dramatic comments.
So afterwards we had interchanges and my companion left for a meeting and I called my mission president and told him what happened and he told me that it was grounds for sending us both home. Because apparantly if our companion takes off we are to run after them and ditch the member but i didnt know that at the time and i explained that i tried to do the best with the circumstance and he told me that it was probable that we will be sent home without honor for this but that he needed to discuss and pray about it and talk with my companion first. That night when my companion got home i was reading my scriptures and praying like no other and my companion wouldnt talk to me and she started packing her suitcase. President called and talked to us for about 5 minutes and then told us "you are not to leave the house until you work your differences out and thats final." And then he told me that it was for my trust in him and God that he wasnt going to send us home but that we were grounded. So after a really stressful day we were left to talk until 1am. What a nightmare of a day.
Yesterday we were in the temple and our less active forever family the Cruz family went through the temple and she cried during the whole thing. Jeovahna in her patriarchal blesssing states that she will recieve the blessings of the temple with her spouse but her spouse isnt a member so yesterday she came through the tour by herself and we found her before she went in and she was so happy and started crying and she told us "you have to come in with me i was thinking about you guys and it was like god answered my prayers and here you are! It also happened to be hna Muñoz bday yesterday so we went in the tour with her and when we entered the sealing room the spirit was so strong she started bawling and after she told us "i have been missing out on so many blessings from not going to church and after this experience i know what i have to change to receive those blessings promised. It was such a beautiful experience i started to cry from the spirit and happiness i felt to see her change because before she always made excuses as to why she couldnt go to church.
Yesterday i tried to help my companion have the best birthday ever so that she could have good memories for when she goes home and we had dinner with Pati and Cake and then a short surprise party with a recent convert of the elders and She opened my gift which was a skirt hand made mexican style thats really cute and earings that are sombreros that say viva mexico. So even though alot happened this past 2 days bad and good what i have learned the most is that when we trust in the lord he will help us with everything and when we are obedient as well it is in this when we recieve the blessings from God. I know that He lives and loves us and i watch you all to know im praying for you and so grateful to be in the mission its so fast and i honestly cant believe how fast time is here. I love you all so much.
Love, Kayla
