Oh my goodness what a week!
So much happened and so fast that Im just going to do a list for this email haha.
Tuesday: So every tuesday we have zone meetings in the stake center that is about 30 minutes walking from our house. And in these meetings we recieve updates from President Hall and the latinos have english tests and let me tell you my companions english is getting so good! She wants to learn english so bad because if they learn english and pass the final test then President Hall enrolls them in BYU for a year to study and she comes from a very por family so this is a huge opportunity for her, also her future boyfriend or the boy she has a crush on happens to be from Utah what a coincidence right? Also President Hall came and talked to our zone and another neighborinng zone about disscussions with members and how we need to visit a member every night and tell them to help us in the work of salvation so far we havent had any members follow through on this but we have hope.
Wednesday i cant remember anything from wednesday so thats that.
Thursday- We had a Stake misión conference and as we were setting up chairs for this event i asked "Why are we setting up so many chairs when only 20 people are going to show?" real Christ like optomistic right? And someone replied "well its the whole stake! thats a ton of poeple!" And well as it turns out i was totally right only 20 people showed up and there were more missionaries present then poeple haha. However, the talks were really good and i really liked them and our zone of 24 missionaries practiced songs for the night and the last song we sang to close was the "Prayer of a Prophet" sang to the tune of "Come Thou Fount" and after the 3rd verse one of the elders recited the first visión of Joseph Smith and then we sang the 4th verse and let me tell you the spirit was so strong and powerful we were all in tears by the end of it. I gained a much stronger testimony of Joseph Smith this day and i cant deny that he was a prophet of god.
Friday- The Photo of the group of elders and Hermana Shupp happened this day! We had our last training meeting Friday. Training meetings happen twice in the 12 weeks of training program new missionaries have and so this was our last one and they are kind of really fun because the whole district from the MTC is reunited and we get to learn lots on how to be better missionaries. And in these meetings they Split the trainors and trainees in seperate meetings and ask questions. and some of the questions involve obedience with waking up or studying in the morning or what not but the main question asked for us was "Do you think you are ready to train?" And we all went around and said yes or no and why. I responded "no....uhhh...maybe....mmmm...ya no" haha and when asked why i was on the fence about it the response was easy "I have far more to learn about humility and this góspel to be able to teach and help someone else develop those things, but if its the will of God then I know I can" The misión is a hard thing for sure and everyday i learn and develop more spiritually but when you think you got the hang of something thats when the humbling experience comes that makes you feel like you will never fully get the hang of things haha. Anyways hermana Quispe was asked in her meeting if she thought i was ready to be a trainer and she said yes without a doubt. She definitly has alot more faith in me than i have in myself haha so we will see. We have one week left and then this saturday find out if we have changes or if we stay for another 6 weeks.
Saturday- Was filled with lessons and people to teach and we had members who were whilling to help but when we went to pick up the members they cancelled. Its tough because we are supposed to have lessons with members but then they always cancel and then we just have to go alone. So if you get the chance to help the missionaries please do or ask them to help they will light up! Garantee haha
Sunday- Is always a great day we had 5 investigators in church, 6 recient converts, and 9 less active members so our Ward is looking fuller and fuller every sunday which is amazing! We also had one of our investigators Elizabeth who is getting baptised 28th of feb invite her friends which is unheard of and super awesome!
Well Got to go love you lots and thanks for all the love and support!
