Hows everyones week been? Hopefully just peachy!
I bet your all wondering why the odd title? Well ill get to that a Little later. This week was one of the fastes in my whole life i feel like yesterday was monday and now its monday again weird right? Its also crazy that i complete 7 months in 2 weeks and that its almost mothers day! Que Rapido no? Also i dont think i ever stop sweating its just so hot here in mexico and my companion is from mexico and walks extrememly fast so its always like my companion a yard or 2 away and then me trotting helplessly behind and every appointment we have they always look at me and say "you poor thing let me get you something to drink"
As missionaries we are required to contact people in the streets with cards or through service or however we possibly can and so the other day we got asked if we were Jehovah witnesses and when we said " No We're Mormons!!!!" they just paused and asked again " are you guys Jehovah witnesses". Then after a long 5 minutes of explaning the name tag and the name of the church they said no and walked away. I think the sun here is getting to everyone if you ask me all this sun cant be healthy for the brain ni for the skin.
A really cool experience i loved this week was when we were with one of our members and usually we stick to the agenda and plans for the day but after one of our appointments i turned to the member named Gladys and asked her where she wanted to go and we went a visited this family of inactives. Well we get to the house and the lady opens the door, invites us all in, gives us wáter and greets us like we were her best friends and she then told us about how the other week she was invited to a family home evening (one that we were actually at) but wasnt able to go to, also that she just had had this feeling and desire to go back to church. She has 2 sons dilan and brandon and her son Brandon is 9 years old and not baptised yet so he counts as one of our baptisms and investigators. Anyways we talked with this family and set up a date of baptism for Brandon and this kid is so prepared and ready for the góspel its crazy. Anyways they went to church with us this sunday and it was their first time back in church after 2 years of inactivity.
Now to the cat story. yesterday we were practicing in a choir for an event in the church im still not exactly what exactly for but anyways we have to sing for this event. And well the girls who are in charge of the music and leading everything picked ridiculously high songs to sing and i was sitting next to this other sister from california and she was trying to show me how the songs went like the tune and stuff and i couldnt for the life of me figure out what song she was singing. Then i looked back at my companion and asked her if she knew what was going on and she replies " no im just moving my mouth and pretending haha" Well as the night goes on my voice is just cracking all over the place and is dry as can be and afterwards me and hermana Sánchez were talking and laughing because it seriously sounded like a cat getting ran over by a bus like one of the busses with 10 wheels......reeew.....muuuew.....eeiii...criiie...meuw....ya i think you get the picture. I think i can cross singing off my list of talents dang it. Haha
Lately i have started working on the attributes of Christ and started the second attribute of Hope and the scripture references on hope are super amazing. But one of my favorites was romans 12:12 look it up. Anyways what i have learned so far is that we cant have faith in Christ if we dont have a hope in this góspel. Also Hope is what brings us salvation and opens the doors and hearts of men. So in these next few days remember that with a hope in the góspel and a testimony of Christ the hearts of men can be opened and that with the Holy Spirit Peoples lives can change. One saying i like alot is "Am i better today than i was yesterday...and will i be better tomorrow than i was today?" Change is posible through a faith and hope in our savior and his atonement. I love you all and i know this church is true. I Know that He lives and loves us and that he atoned for our sins so that we could have an eternal happiness. Always remember how special you are and that you are a son or daughter of a King.
Lots Of Love,
